DEMOCRAT PARTIES BEST FRIEND

I heard a very interesting statistic yesterday that coincides with this particular election but portrays an overall picture that gives further light to media bias toward the left. An independent group looked at all of the articles and reporting concerning the 06 Mid Term election and found a very interesting fact. According to this study 90% of the reporting during this election cycle has been positive toward Democrats while 80% has been negative toward Republicans. I realize that to many this does not come as a suprise since it has been obvious that the media as a whole is liberal and use their media outlets to push the lefts agenda and take every opportunity whether factual or not to criticize and negatively report news concerning Republicans. Some who read this will think that I am no different as I write negatively toward Democrats and the left and positively toward the GOP and the right. The clear distinction and example is this, I make no claim that I am reporting the news nor claim being a journalist. Additionally even by the very title of this Blog it very clearly states my political bias and as a commentator I clearly express my conservative political views and beliefs and one who reads anything on this site clearly understands the political view and direction that the commentary originates. The media in contrast claim unbiased reporting of the news while clearly giving a decidedly left leaning opinion and reporting of every issue that affects this nation and the world. It is a deception that thankfully much of the public is seeing as opposed to 20 years ago when what the media reported and their view was taken as political gospel and seldom if at all questioned. This too is yet another reason why I have confidence that this election is not a sure win for Democrats as is being reported regularly and often in print and the airways. The liberal bias though quickly denied by the majority of the press gives a decidedly negative view to the outcome of this election for the GOP and has all but given the election to Democrats. They have readily reported that conservatives were not going to vote this election when the evidence shows otherwise all in an attempt to discourage GOP turn out to favor their, "unbiased, " support of Democrats. Unfortunate for them is the fact that regardless of their obvious bias the media still do not control the mind of the voter contrary to what they seem to think as they attempt this manipulative style of reporting to favor their liberal bias. Voters have the intelligence enough to make up their own mind inspite of media reporting and will vote their beliefs, conscience and personal evaluation of the issues that face this nation along with who they feel is better qualified to lead the nation. Media or no media the voters are still the only deciding factor of this election and come November 8 even the left biased media will have no choice but to report favorably for the GOP if that is what voters decide on election day.

Who is this "independent" group?

Ken, the Kerry comments have been running nonstop for the last 2 days. I don't see how one could say there is any liberal media bias on that.

Come on Rob, we both know that if this had been a Republican the media would have hung him out to dry. Sure it has been in the news since it happened but most of the reporting has been as Kerry apologists and not condemnation for what he said except when quoting Republicans. The media commentators apologized for Kerry before he did.

I cannot remember the name of the group and cannot find it on the web but I heard it on a CBS radio news break.

Again, I don't know what media commentators you are referring to. Kerry has been hammered and any future presidential aspirations are over for him.

No problem, but if you come across the group name let me know.

It is not surprising that media coverage would be negative because the American people are in a sour mood. With Iraq, Katrina, Abramoff, and Foley, as well as concerns about the economy by working class folks, there is great dissatisfaction with the government and the direction of the country. Republicans are in control of the White House and Congress, so that is who is being blamed.

Rob, when have you heard something positive about the GOP by the media ? Even when news is good the media finds a way to twist it bad. Iraq is a prime example. Troops come home and don't recognize the Iraq they just left because it is portrayed so negatively in the media. A friend who came back said that he only experienced fear that we could lose when he got home because of the coverage and all of the negative. Yet when he was there he found encouragement and satisfaction of accomplishment because of the support by fellow troops and Iraqi people. His fear of losing came from thinking that the only negative coverage would turn the country against the troops and their mission which he still believes has been successful!

I heard that report too, Ken, only I believe the actual figures were 77% slanted toward the Democats, 12% toward Rpublicans, and I guess the rest are supposed to be "fair and balanced" although I have a hard time believing any media is fair and balanced anymore. I tried to find the article because I'm sure I heard it on Fox News but I can't find it.

At any rate, it's perfectly obvious to anyone without blinders on that the media is biased toward the left. I can't even watch CBS anymore without getting so angry I want to throw something at the television set! Your article is right on target. If I run across the actual report I'll let you know.

Blessings! Keep up the good work. :)

You guys on he right love to drone on about the "liberal" bias in the media. The fact of the matter is you guys are in the mainstream media now, FOX and talk radio are solidly mainstream. On any given day more people listen to Rush than watch Katie Couric's newscast. Coverage of the GOP is negative because you have a Republican President who is as unpopular as Carter at his worst, and the electorate is sick of the mess in Iraq and unrestrained govt spending. The networks gave W glowing press after 9-11, and they skewered Clinton during the Lewinsky affair. You guys can't blame the GOP's woes this time around on the media. You guys are part of the mainstream media now. No media in this country is or has ever been totally unbiased. If you want your news center left watch CNN or the big three and read the NYT or WashPost, if you want a center right slant go for FOX, any of the Murdoch papers, and the Wash Times, or tune into Rush, Ingraham, Hannity, et al. Americans have more ways to get their news than ever before.

If I turn on Fox, listen to WBAL or WBBM here in Maryland, or read the Wall Street Journal (which I subscribe to) I get plenty of pro-GOP stories and commentary.

Again, the reason that the Republican Congress has a 20 percent approval rating and Bush has an approval rating in the 30s is because Americans are fed up with Iraq and the direction of the country.

Anybody really think that there is parity in the way the media presents stories favoring one political party or another?

If so, I've got some swampland I need to sell.

For every Fox News there is ABCNBCCBSPBSNPR

For every Wall Street Journal there is NewYorkTimesWashingtonPostLATimesTimeMagazine...

Stack up all the GOP favorable coverage on one side and all the Dem favorable coverage on the other and there is no comparison.

Amazing that the GOP wins anything at all with this handicap. Imagine what they would do with a level playing field.

And that is exactly why the lamestream media will never allow the playing field to be level.

Sure they are. But if you think they're ready to hand it over to Dems you're dreaming. And Iraq isn't a mess, its just portrayed as one by the liberal media, a point I think this post is making.

"For every Fox News there is ABCNBCCBSPBSNPR"

BINGO. Lets not forget the treason certain liberal machine news organizations like to commit. Can't have terrorists caught by surprise you know.

Conservatives win at the ballot box because of the issues. That is how they leap the media hurtle. Democrat liberals relate to almost no one when it comes to economic or social issues.

Anonymous has just proven that certain liberals cannot express their opinion without insults and accusations of fascist or nazi. Seems to me we fought a war to allow Europe and the world to live in freedom and not under dictatorial control as under Hitler. Yet this liberal believes that any opinion that does not agree with his is fascist and nazi. I ask who then believes in free speech, those who disagree with one another but respect ones liberty to express themselves or those who accuse anyone who disagrees of being a nazi ?

That anonymous coward also failed to provide us with any valid arguments against our points. Screaming "fascist" all the live long day doesn't get it done.

Bias towards the left? That old canard? Jeez! The MSM is tap dancing trying to scare people about a democratic changeover.

And please guys, if you want to see rightwing comparisons of liberals to Nazis, all you have to do is meander over to Free Republic, or Lucianne.com, or half the sites on the list here. Cry me a river boys!
