SOUTH CAROLINA REPUBLICAN PRESIDENTIAL DEBATE

NEW POSTS FOLLOW BELOW THIS ONE

Tuesday May 15th is an important day in GOP politics and the State of South Carolina. At 9pm that evening the second Republican Presidential Candidates Debate will take place at the Kroger Center in Columbia, SC. The Debate is sponsored by The South Carolina Republican Party and hosted by Fox News. The Moderator for the event will be Fox News anchor Brit Hume.

As an Editor for The HinzSight Report I have received Press Credentials for the debate and will be taking a team to Columbia spending the day covering the Debate and all of the events associated with it.

We will have access to each of the Fox News personalities who will be airing their afternoon and evening programs live from the Kroger Center. Special Report with Brit Hume, The Fox Report with Shepard Smith and Hannity and Combs are among the Fox programs that will be live at the location. Sean Hannity will also be airing his daily radio program from the Kroger Center.

At 5pm across the street Neal Boortz will be holding a Fair Tax rally which is expected to bring 10, 000 people in support of the Fair Tax. This rally is to show the GOP candidates the support that this tax replacement bill has among the people and to hopefully get the GOP to back passage of this much needed tax change.

As you can see the day is full and we will be busy covering a myriad of news worthy items throughout the day. The main event though is the GOP debate. In conjunction with the debate we will have opportunity to interview the candidates one on one after the debate. An opportunity that I will take full advantage of.

Here is your chance to get your questions to the candidates. In the comment section state your questions and to which candidate that you wish the question asked. I will then take the questions and present as many along with those that I have to the candidates.

Here are the Candidates that will be participating on the 15th. They are listed in no particular order.

U.S. Senator Sam BrownbackKansas - Former Mayor Rudy Giuliani – New York City - Former Governor Jim GilmoreVirginia - Former Governor Mike HuckabeeArkansas - U.S. Congressman Duncan HunterCalifornia - U.S. Senator John McCainArizona - U.S. Congressman Ron PaulTexas - Former Governor Mitt RomneyMassachusetts - U.S. Congressman Tom TancredoColorado - Former Governor Tommy Thompson – Wisconsin

Additionally Mike Duncan Chairman of The Republican National Committee will be available for interviews during the course of the day. So if you have any questions for him please include those in the comments.

Over the following days after the debate I will be posting several articles from the interviews, the debate and the other events taking place that day.

I cannot promise that all of your questions will be asked but I will present as many as possible. Post you questions and be a part of the South Carolina GOP Presidential Debate.

Ken Taylor

THIS POST WILL REMAIN AS THE FIRST POST UNTIL SATURDAY, MAY 12 TO ALLOW FOR AS MANY QUESTIONS AS POSSIBLE. NEW POSTINGS WILL BE ADDED UNDER THIS.

THE CONSTITUTION SERIES WILL BE DELAYED FOR TWO WEEKS IN ORDER FOR PREPARATION FOR THE DEBATE AND ATTENDANCE OF THE DEBATE. THE SERIES WILL CONTINUE ON MAY 22

I have one for Ron Paul.

Question:

How would you combat the Global War On Terror and still keep the astounding economy we have today?

Anonymous Anonymous said...

1) Do you believe we need to significantly increase military spending and how would you do it?

2) If we won tomorrow in Iraq, we’d still be fighting terrorism so what is your plan for fighting terrorism in the long haul

3) The President vetoed a bill from the Democrats in Congress that set a timetable for withdrawing the troops from Iraq. The troops are running out of money for equipment and ammunition. How would you deal with this?

4)Would you close down Guantanamo Bay? Do you believe The Geneva Conventions apply to the enemy? Do you support the NSA intercept program?

5) Social Security and Medicare are going broke. What would you do about it? Would you cut benefits, increase taxes, extend the retirement age? What would you do?

6) The Democrats are proposing what could be the biggest entitlement program in world history, nationalizing the healthcare system. What would you say to the American people about our healthcare?

7) The Democrats are talking about letting the Bush tax cuts lapse which would increase taxes by the hundreds of billions. What impact would that have on the economy and how would you stop it?

8) What is your judicial philosophy? If you say you are an originalist, what does that mean? And how would you overcome a Democrat filibuster of your nominees?

9) Do you support the McCain Feingold bill and if not why?

10) Do you support amending The Constitution to either define marriage between a man and a woman, or allowing each state to decide the issue or do you oppose amending the constitution all together.

11) You say you’re a Conservative, you can invoke Ronald Reagan’s name. Define what that means to you.

12) Most polls show that the public opposes illegal immigration. Do you want to give in the end citizenship to illegal immigrants? What exactly will you do to stop illegal immigrants from crossing our border? How will you stop them and how will you punish companies that hire illegals? Please be specific and don't use the phrase “Comprehensive Immigration Reform” since nobody knows what you are talking about.

13) Do you believe in Global Warming? Do you think human beings are the main source of Global Warming? Do you believe carbon dioxide, which every human being exhales is a pollutant and how would you balance the economic well being of the country with environmental regulations?

14) China is massively increasing it’s military spending. It poses a serious threat against Taiwan. It is locking up oil contracts throughout the world and is a major source of support for terrorism by backing North Korea and Iran. How do you plan to deal with China?

15) Are you prepared if necessary, to go to war with Iran to prevent it from securing nuclear weapons?

16) If a media company in our country reveals national security secrets, what are you prepared to do about it if anything?

17) Do you support the Fairness Doctrine and if not what will you do to stop it?

18) When does human life begin?

19) What government programs would you cut or eliminate. Please be specific.

20) What do you consider the three top responsibilities of the Federal Government?

21) Can you define Federalism and can you tell the American People why it is so important?

All good questions Pete.

But I would have just one question. Assuming that our candidates (except Ron Paul) are all going to be fairly conservative and propose many of the same things, I would ask what I put to Duncan Hunter a few weeks back:

How will you exercise the leadership necessary to get the American people behind this conservative agenda?

After all, that was the greatest thing Reagan did.

For Duncan Hunter (SD):

Given incidences such as the NJ terrorist plot that was foiled recently, the VT killer and numerous other incidences of criminal alien activity; what will you do to REALLY address the problem of our porous border and poor follow up with those here illegally or even those here on student visa's and such? Several of the suspects in the NJ terrorist plot were here illegally.

This ought to be a really interesting day for you, Ken. As to my question, it's your question. I believe that's the most important question of all because unless we get the majority of Americans behind a conservative agenda we will lose in 2008, and in the long run we'll lose a lot more than the presidency!

To any candidate:

Where has the soul of the Republican Party gone? Where are the ideals of Reagan and the Contract with America? What will you do to rally this Party back to its conservative roots and stop the shift to more centrist/liberal positions?

Wow, all the questions I might have asked have already been listed, except, and this for all candidates:

What are your views on the North American Security & Prosperity Partnership (SPP), and in this regard, would you be willing to permit the surrender of any U.S. sovereignty as European countries did their own in forming the EU?

Some simple yes/no questions:

Do you believe in evolution?

Is the earth/universe over 10,000 years old?

For Romney: Do you believe Joseph Smith talked to an angel named Moroni who directed Smith to dig up golden tablets which Smith then translated while under a Shroud?

Recite the Ten Commandments.

Do you believe Jews are going to Hell?

Jenn, perhaps if people didn't give Mudkitty so much attention she'd go back to her mud and leave everyone alone. Just a thought. :)

Ask each and every one of them what are their specific plans to:

1. Stop the illegals invasion.
2. Put an end to this North American Union membership which if it goes forth, ends the existence of the United States as sovereign country.
3. Expunging this country of Islamists.
4. Stopping all entries into this country until we have secured our borders and know who is coming and going from our country.

For Mitt Romney: Can you explain how your LDS faith will make you a better President?
For all: What is the one thing you can do, that will make our schools achieve better results?
And how about this one: How will you work with Democrats to accomplish results?

For Mitt Romney:
How will your personal religious beliefs (as a Mormon) aid you in making decisions as a President?

It seems to me that conservatives don't really have any real issues to talk about which don't include telling gay people what to do, telling women that they aren't smart enough to make decisions for themselves, and putting prayer and creationism in school. College tuition is through the roof. Student loans are drowning college graduates and regular people are being screwed by the high price of gasoline with no real alternative. When are you people going to wake up and realize that faith and religion are personal issues and the hundreds of millions of Americans who don't buy into your brand of junk need their issues addressed as well.

Jenn denies banning me on her site. You witnessed it here folks. Oh she calls it "kicking to the curb..." Isn't she cute? Right wingers use euphemism, since truth hurts too much.

Cache.

Makes for a scorching saga set against a turbulent backdrop, don't it?
