THANK YOU PRESIDENT BUSH - 9/11

As we approach the final moments of the Presidency of George W. Bush, the blogosphere is remembering in thanks the service to our Nation of our 43rd President.

As I look back on the Bush years, I would be amiss if I did not include my fondest memory of President Bush and in my opinion one of his brightest and strongest moments as President.

In the days that followed the cowardly attacks of The World Trade Center, The Pentagon and the loss of Flight 93 in Pennsylvania, we were still very much in a state of shock not knowing whether to be sad, angry or just plain numb.

Most of us were actually experiencing all three as the news was showing us scenes of the devistation , heroism, the recovery and glimpses into who was killed and who this, Al Qaeda actually was.

President Bush had been in Washington since the evening of the eleventh and had calmed and assured us that this dispicable attack would not go unanswered by The United States.

On September 14 he went to New York and visited with the families of the innocent victims and during the trip went to the site which had become known as Ground Zero.

His handlers had planned to have him walk behind a rope line shake a few hands but that was not who President Bush was and soon after arriving he did what he felt he must do and walked amidst the rubble to be with the brave men and women who were risking their lives trying to find survivors.

When he picked up the bull horn and spoke to the rescue workers and the Nation delivering the ultimatum which told Al Qaeda that America was seeking venegance with a great and necessary resolve, it was then that we as a Nation pulled together and understood that we not only would prevail but would be victorious in defeating those who had attacked us.

This was our declaration of war, this was our justification to act in our defense and this was our call to rally behind the man who would lead us in the fight to defeat this evil anemy.

President Bush proved in that moment that he was the right man at the right moment in history for the job that was needed to defend and protect this Nation from those who were seeking to destroy us.

For this alone we as a Nation owe him a debt of gratitude we can never repay. But our thanks is not what he was or has ever sought. Only the safety of our people and the protection and preservation of our Nation, our freedoms and liberty have been his goal.

And protect, defend and preserve this Nation is what President Bush has accomplished during his eight years as our leader, Commander in Chief and President. Thank you President Bush.

Rivka's right, God was gracious to us by allowing us to have Bush as a president during this time, and yet so many of the American people showed no gratitude whatsoever.
I think that's something that will always disgust me!

Yes let be thankful of Bush for dragging us into a war that was not needed. Living the new president with 2 wars, one on terror and dealing with Iraq.

Gayle: The American should feel gratitude for Bush?? Why at worst he lied to us about WMD at best he made large mistake that he hardly felt sorry for, but just disappointed.

I've read a lot of ultra conservative blogs in my day, but this one has to be the most ridiculous. Do the bloggers here just make this stuff up as they go along or is this a voice from the Reagan grave?
P.S. - I'm not a lefty - I'm an independent.
